Shashwata Suchetana Gramin Pathagar is a Non Governmental Organizations, registered under West Bengal Societies Act. Registration no. S/1L/12862 of 2002-2003. Since its inception in the year 2000, it has been working for the betterment of the Social, Economic condition of the Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Minority and other backward classes of people specially for students.
We work in the remote village Radhaballavpur, of Hooghly District, in Khanakul-I since 2000 under ARAMBAGH Parliamentary Constituency. We run a Public Library with Text / reference books for the local poor students, Coaching Centre for students up to Class 12 , Computer training centre and undertake various other social activities time to time.
Our organization has undertaken various development initiatives involving community, youth, children, women’s groups, etc., in the form of organizing Awareness Camps, Free Book distribution for poor student, financial support to the underprivileged people and students, , HIV / AIDS Awareness / prevention programs, providing Health care for the disabled/ poor, organizing Eye Camps, free spectacle distribution to poor senior citizens, organizing free coaching centers, mainstreaming of SC /ST/Minority students to schools and proovide them educational support, Non formal Education for the illiterates, etc.
Earlier we received Grant under MPLAD Scheme to construct our present single storey two roomed library building. We also received grant from Raja Rammohun Roy Library Foundation (RRRLF) for the purchase of books and furniture. Presently the construction of a Community Sanitary Complex is under progress with the fund from Nirmal Bangla Mission Scheme.
Presently we provide coaching to about 250 students against very low tuition fees , a large number of whom are females. The number of students from the surrounding villages are increasing regularly in our coaching centre.
The library building is named as “ MUJIBUR RAHAMAN HAZARI SMRITI BHAWAN” after the name of late Muzibur Rahaman Hazari, former Freedom Fighter, Social activist and the resident of Village Radhaballav Pur. The building is built on the land donated by his Three daughters MOSLEHA KHATOON, MANOARA KHATOON and MANJURA KHATOON in the noble memory of their late father.
